Last night in Asia

When I got to the airport today they offered me HK$1500 (about US$200), a free upgrade, lounge access, hotel stay, and free breakfast+lunch. How could I say no?? It turns out the hotel is actually pretty swanky, so no complaints, although the cost of internet access is HK$5 per minute (about $0.75) and I am waaaay too cheap for that!

Meanwhile I ended up blowing through crazy money here in HK on things like tailored shirts and booze. The good news: I am set for work wardrobe for a while with my SEVEN new tailored shirts. The bad news: I still need to buy shoes for work or get my old shoes “cobbled”. Apparently I have loved the bally shoes that I bought in 2001-2002 whilst in Australia (my year of living large on the strong USD) a bit too much, as I have worn THROUGH the leather sole, resulting in a hole in the bottom of the shoes! I have never gotten shoes re-soled before. Ugggh.

The other good news: I got a haircut, so I don’t look like a hippy anymore.

Alright this was kind of a silly blog entry.
