Darwin - This kinda sucks

So I was all excited about the 8 hour stopover I would have in Darwin. I was going to stow my bag, head to the crocodile park, and then grab dinner and get back on my plane to Bali. Sadly my flight was late so the stopover was more like 6 hours instead of 8, and there was no place to put my bag during the day! Then the croc farm closed early today and because its sunday all the museums and stuff are closed. PLUS its FREAKING HOT AND HUMID, and much of the tiny town area is shut down. I hate it when all of my plans fall apart. On the bright side, I had another chance to enjoy some aussie beer and got to enjoy the heat a bit!

So tonight I land in denpasar...spending the night in Seminyak, which is supposed to be nice, then to the beachy chilled out Lovina for some solitary time. I have a narsty farmer tan from the intense sydney sun, so maybe I can eliminate that in bali...fingers crossed, although I think the ozone depletion down in Australia "helps" for tanning purposes.

As for the Australian experience, it really made me miss living in Australia. Such a great country to live in on a daily basis...great weather, great food, relatively nice people, and increasingly diverse. I think I actually liked Melbourne a lot more than Sydney this time, but the whole experience makes me wonder if I should start looking for Australia-based jobs after grad school or just try to make it home to CA. Decisions decisions....

I'll be posting Australian pictures on the picture page soon as well....
