Ushuaia - Mental Breakdown
OK, breakdown is a bit strong, but the point is that I am bored as fuck. Its ironic, because this town is unbelieveably beautiful, with the blue/black ocean water, the green lush forests, the snow-capped mountains...but I´m bored shitless. Combine that with the fact that I have a mild cold and I wouldn´t mind a couple of extra days in Buenos Aires and I´m starting to curse the Aerolineas strike more and more.Long story short: I could only get flights to Ushuaia that gave me a 2 day trip or a 11 day trip...I chose the 11 days, when I probably should have opted for 2. Frankly, the 3.5 hour flight just isn´t that long! When I was working that would have been a typicaly tuesday meeting in Denver...fly out to Denver at 6am, have my meeting, get back on the plane, back in NYC by 10pm, rinse and repeat! But I chose the 11 days thinking I would be taking classes here and the time would fly. Well, classes are now officially over, but and that flying time has disappeared. Tomorrow I go on a harbor cruise, which should be nice and I will get to see lots of critters, but then I will return to boredom.
In other news, I am DEFINITELY going to Philly for New Years. My flight gets me there on the 30th and out on the 2nd or 3rd I think, so I might venture a day trip up to NYC. If anyone is in NYC or Philly and wants to hang out just drop me a note.
In other news, I need to figure out a way to practice Spanish once I get back to the USA, so if anyone is looking for a bad spanish language partner, please let me know.
