Ushuaia - Dan gets sick, cold, and insane

Do you ever have an experience wherein once sense is stimulated very positively, while the others are stimulated negatively? For example, eating the greatest piece of Tarte Citron in your life, while being forced to listen to Mmmm Bop! by Hansen at the same time?

Such was my experience today with my boat cruise of the Beagle Channel. How so? Well, it was an incredible visual experience. Ushuaia and the Beagle Channel are insanely beautiful...different colors, snow capped mountains, deep blue water, sea lions, flocks of birds, etc. etc. So visually I was REALLY stimulated.

As for the other senses, hereĀ“s the story. So I chose the boat based on a recommendation from GRO (pronounced Groo), my norwegian/argentine tourguide from last weekend. She recommended them because they have small boats. Yes, I thought to myself, small boats are better...a more intimate boat experience! Little did I realize that small boats tilt a lot more and have worse heating! Naturally I ended up terribly sea sick and had to sit outside to clear my head (and stomach), compounded with my already bad head cold.

So back to the point:
Sight - Very positive
Smell - Heinous (sea lion poop, bird poop, sea water)
Hearing - Neutral
Touch/Feeling - Nausea, head stuffyness, freezing cold
Taste - Positive (they served cookies on the boat)

I will have to relay the part about me going insane and the wacky conversation I had with the sea lions at another time...its almost 9pm here, which means the sun will be going down in less than 2 hours!
