2006 Starts Fast...and Crazy!!

Good News! I got into the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business! This means I have a place to be next year and can delay working for another two years! I am very excited, although I find out from a couple more schools before then.

Big Chicago Question:
Where to live in Chicago? Hyde Park near campus? Lincoln Park with all the yuppies? Someplace without the word "park" in the name? (or is that too crazy?!)

More big news: travel planning is now in full force!!! I reserved my fatty-fat ticket to circumnagivate the globe, and now I'm looking for suggestions on several spots. Here is the current itinerary, and all comments are welcome, although some places I know better than others (highlighted in red) and some I could REALLY use advice.

INTINERARY
Feb 2-4 Auckland *been here before, so this is easy
Feb 4-6 Wellington *Any ideas of good restaurants? I heard there are TONS
Feb 6-12 Sydney *used to live here
Feb 12-17 Bali *I'm trying to avoid the tourist traps
Feb 17-19 Hong Kong
Feb 19 - May 14 Beijing *here for 3 months, so if you know people who live there...
May 14-15 Hong Kong
May 15-17 Kuala Lumpur *going to try to hit Penang and/or Melaka if possible
May 17-18 Singapore
May 18-21 London
May 21-27 Istanbul *help!
May 27 Frankfurt *only a city to meet friends..advice for one night there?
May 28 - Jun 11 Prague/Budapest/Dubrovnik
Jun 11-12 Milan *only staying overnight to catch my morning flight to madrid
Jun 12-15 Madrid
Jun 15-18 NYC
Jun 18-23 Seattle

So any good advice for any of the blue cities? Everything is welcome!

In other news, I have until the end of the month here in California. I'm literally just planning trips now and possibly hanging out with some local friends. Also I got a new haircut and I look awesome.
