Lists are Fun! (Volume 2 – A little unhealthy personal inventory)

Speaking of OCD behavior, I have put together another set of lists! Yehaw!

This is list designed to keep me on track as I begin my tour of unemployment that is expected to last anywhere for 6 months to 3 years…bBut like all big life changes, this time provides opportunities as well as threats! So here is my “SWOT” analysis to get me through unemployment, as well as some “next steps”

SWOT

Strengths
1) Giant network of friends and loved ones (and blog readers) around the world
2) Good skin (it’s a blessing really)
3) A hearty laugh (that can be heard across the hills)
4) A decent working understanding of equity and equity-linked structuring alternatives from a tax, accounting and regulatory perspective
5) Cloak of invincibility

Weaknesses
1) Inflated sense of self-importance
2) Alarmingly loud voice
3) Nail-biting (its an issue)
4) Big ass (more on this in a latter note as I have a fun story from Vietnam)
5) Cave aged gruyere

Opportunities
1) Chance to change entire life direction and location and hopefully get into grad school
2) Potential to learn some Spanish and Chinese
3) Re-acquaint myself with all of my old hobbies (oboe, reading, walking)
4) Lose 10 lbs and eye bags
5) Learn to cook good (and do other things good too)

Threats
1) Passport is very worn (its kinda falling apart)
2) Potential get a case of the “lazies” (not to be confused with scabies)
3) Lack of a good PDA with keyboard (I might buy one, but there are so many choices!! SO MANY FREAKIN CHOICES!!!!)
4) Potential to get a case of the “gooutdrinkingwithfriendsandeatingdeliciousfriedbarfoodinsteadofgoingtothegymandstudyingforGMATs” (not to be confused with gonorrhea)
5) Completely blowing off my budget

Next Steps
- Vacation in Vancouver (whee!)
- Study for GMATs
- Go to gym (need to get money’s worth!!)
- Cook at home
- Stick to budget
- Go to library (more on my “serious reading list” later)

- Uncover and foil sinister plot of an evil mastermind
- Spanish Class
- Mandarin Class
- Practice flute

- Fall in and out of love but learn a little something along the way
- Find August / September sublet (if you know of anything please let me know!)
- Plan language study adventures
- Gymnastics class (sadly I’m not joking)
- Museums museums museums
- Scalp broadway tickets (only for good shows though, no crap)

- Find a moving/storage company (again, any advice?)
- Discover/enslave secret race of mutants living deep underneath the sewer systems of Manhattan (I will refer to them as "the morlocks") and use them as part of sinister plot
