Buenos Aires 5: Weekend in Uruguay

In standard Dan fashion, I totally blew off my "weekend away" planning until Friday. Unfortunately, day trips here in Buenos Aires book up FAST, so I wasnt able to go do the guacho thing in an estancia, and I wasn't able to go the Colonia or one of the other "popular" place, so I ended up in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay.

What did I do in Montevideo? Take a wild guess....

So the food was surprisingly much better than in Buenos Aires (which I think has good food). I had an amazing steak, and also AWESOME wine! The local varietal is called Tannat, and it was kinda like a cabernet sauvignon LITE...not as full bodied, but with a lot of similar tannic qualities. I was diggin it, and it went really well with steak! YUM!!

My hair is getting long, but I am afraid of getting it cut because:
a) my spanish skills might not be good enough to get the haircut i want
b) my spanish skills might not save me from the local mullet

It might end up like that episode of the Golden Girls where they all go to Sophia's salon and ask for very specific things, but then when they're done they all have Sophia's haircut!
